Alcon has an ambitious digital vision and this position will be a key change agent for modernizing and transforming the manufacturing operations to be a digital focused, innovative organization.  The position will support this transformation through project management of highly technical initiatives, delivering training to upskill global teams, and own global communications for the Manufacturing Excellence team.  This candidate will be in a unique position to be a culture change champion to help elevate manufacturing into a digital focused team. 

This position will collaborate closely with various manufacturing sites, global IT teams, and subject matter experts to drive Smart Technology across the manufacturing network.  The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical understanding of industrial systems/operations, project management capabilities, and strong communication skills with a proven track record of delivering complicated solutions to a business. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Project Execution: 
  • Lead specific projects and cross functional teams across the globe to bring Smart Technology solutions into production
  • Project examples:  AI-based vision systems, forecasting/modeling tools, automation/robotic systems
  • Project management certification (PMP, Agile) ideal, proven work experience suitable alternative

• Data Analytics Training:
  • Own the Manufacturing Data Analytics Training Program
  • Partner with subject matter experts to create training strategy and content
  • Partner closely with the manufacturing sites (trainees) and subject matter experts (trainers) to schedule onsite and virtual training sessions
  • Example content:  SAP data extraction, Tableau visualization, AI/ML 101, Advanced AI/ML Concepts

• Communities and Communications:
  • Lead select Smart Technology Communities to share best practices, pain points, solutions, and opportunities (MES, Automation, Data Analytics)
  • Own Manufacturing Excellence communications (global email blasts, best practice emails, recognitions, MEx website)

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 5 Years of Relevant Experience
• Travel Requirements - 10%-20%

PREFERED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• 5+ years in a technical field (manufacturing, R&D, software development, etc.), experience in a highly regulated environment ideal (med device, pharma)
• Organizational agility
• Adaptable communicator
• Organizing
• Action oriented
