US & WW MAx Commercialization Analytics Lead

Position Summary / Purpose of the role:

  • Engages as a key thought partner and trusted advisor to the SVP, Head of MAx, MAx LT and their respective teams responsible for the total enterprise MAx strategy and US execution across the portfolio for all TAs from early development through LOE. Serves as an active member of the MAx leadership team.

  • Guide the company gross to net forecasts and market access strategy across key growth brands and therapeutic areas

  • Provides oversight to the full BI&T integrated book-of-work (pricing/access input to forecasting, market research, analytics) for MAx across markets, indications and domains, prioritizing and negotiating trade-offs according to business priorities. Inspires, coaches and develops team to deliver best-in-class BI&T integrated functional deliverables against priorities.

  • Establishes aspirational yet defendable revenue pricing and access assumptions across the portfolio. Partners on Revlimid LOE and other projections and business risks & opportunities.

  • Provides thought leadership and strategic guidance on external factors impacting the pricing and access landscape globally.

  • Embeds BI&T capabilities into business decision-making for the MAx portfolio, influencing the pull through and action on the business for greater Commercial and Patient success. Ensures BI&T capabilities are delivered effectively and efficiently, with urgency, agility, innovation and a growth mindset, while upholding intellectual and company integrity.

  • Partners collaboratively with Commercial BI&T TA and Market counterparts, new BI&T Centers of Excellence, and Commercial BI&T LT to deliver integrated value of insights with analytics and engage with  stakeholders on the full range of key business questions to inform: annual strategic plans, long-term financial plans, GT development milestones, annual brand plans and budgets, updated projections, and on-going local market commercial performance.

Roles and responsibilities:

Stakeholder Partnership:

  • Lead a team of high-performing BI&T individuals and contractors who provide value-creating decision support for all Commercial leads across the US and WW MAx organization.

  • Provide day-to-day strategic guidance and support to SVP, US MAx and SVP WW MAx to maximize the Commercial potential of the BMS product portfolio across key domains and markets.

  • Develop BI&T plans and budgets aligned to business needs through collaboration with stakeholders and other BI&T team members. Proactively partner to identify knowledge gaps/needs, shape and properly define research/analytics questions to address business issues. Actively eliminate low value activities, and continuously reevaluate the prioritization and focus of the team to drive the business forward on highest priorities, while creating synergies and eliminating duplication.

  • Simulate impact of all US in-line/launch access scenarios for relevant TA scope in support of financial budgets, projections, and R&Os. Generate and consistently communicate a detailed understanding of the drivers of Commercial performance.

  • Consistently deliver timely customer-centric insights, analytics and market perspectives that unlock growth potential and create competitive advantage. Influence the pull-through of insights to action on the business in service of developing and delivering more medicines, to more patients, faster. 

  • Work with BI&T, Commercial and Finance LT members for relevant TA scope to shape the internal/external company narrative by providing key data points, timely customer insights and strategic market perspective for quarterly earnings calls, , investor conferences and other key external events.

Commercial BI&T Team Leadership and Functional Expertise:

  • Lead Myeloma team in the effective transformation of the new One BI&T delivery and operating model in collaboration with the BI&T Leadership Team, Senior VP Commercial BI&T, the Commercial BI&T leadership team, and heads of the BI&T Centers of Excellence. Ensure seamless coordination between business-facing teams, new COEs and the new off-shore GCC.

  • Lead the team in the advancement and application of innovative and industry-leading MAx analytics and market research methodologies across the portfolio. Coach the team when developing research/analytics solutions to address complex, strategic business issues and multi-faceted tactical plans. Ensure the quality of deliverables and integration of insights across functional methods to fully address key business questions.

  • Provide coaching and development to ensure direct team gains functional knowledge of forecasting, analytics, and market research methodologies aligned to job level. Ensure appropriate levels of technical capability, therapy area subject matter expertise, business acumen, and communication and influencing skills across the organization. Proactively share learnings and facilitate use of best practices.

  • Coach and develop team on career aspirations and effectively manage talent to maintain engagement, career growth, and commitment to BI&T and/or MAx career paths at the company.

  • Establish, embed, and maintain a single high-performing culture across the new US Commercialization BI&T team. Create a strong environment for collaboration, capable of adapting to the dynamic needs of the business. Champion a global culture of diversity & inclusion.

  • Role model BMS behaviors of Accountability, Passion, Urgency, Innovation, Inclusion, and Integrity. Understand, demonstrate, and drive adherence to all BMS operating policies.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Senior insights & analytics leader capable of operating with a significant degree of independence

  • Degree/Certification:  BA/BS in relevant functional discipline required; MBA or MS/MA preferred

  • 12+ years relevant work experience in Bio-pharmaceuticals across multiple therapeutic areas, a portion of which must be in Value, Access and Pricing

  • Prior strategy/consulting experience

Competencies/Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to influence Commercial decisions across a wide variety of business contexts: US, Global, and/or international markets; Brands at all lifecycle stages (early development, pre-launch, launch, growth, mature/LOE); Various competitive/market contexts

  • Mastery of advanced market research methods (e.g., behavioral science and advanced qualitative/quantitative techniques) and state-of-the-art Analytics/Forecasting tools and models applied to complex business areas. Versatility with corresponding software, models, and analytical tools to effectively and efficiently deliver book-of-work.

  • Strong team leadership & talent development experience, with proven experience leading through transformations and advancing cultural maturity

  • Highly collaborative and proven effectiveness in influencing in a global organization with a complex matrix of stakeholders and markets

  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills delivered with polished, strategic, -level presence

  • Proven ability to innovate and operate with agility and speed

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $229,500-$278,100 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).

The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. 

Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
