The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to serve as the technical conduit between our Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) design engineers and our electrical replication team. This role is critical in ensuring the successful transition of engineering designs into repeatable, high-fidelity electrical builds. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in circuit design, component selection, and system integration, with an emphasis on supporting design-for-replication and manufacturing readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between UAS design engineers and the electrical fabrication/replication team
  • Review electrical design packages and provide feedback to improve manufacturability, repeatability, and integration workflows
  • Recommend alternate components based on availability, performance, and compatibility with existing platforms
  • Translate engineering intent into actionable build documentation, including wiring diagrams, parts lists, and work instructions
  • Create and modify wiring diagrams using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN)
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues, including identifying wiring faults or design flaws and offering solutions to ensure system integrity
  • Support system integration, troubleshooting, and test efforts for both prototype and production platforms
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of electrical subsystem design standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, systems, and test engineers to ensure successful platform builds

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience supporting product development, preferably in aerospace, defense, or robotics
  • Strong knowledge of circuit design, cable harnessing, connectors, and power distribution systems
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Proficient in industry-standard wiring diagram software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN, etc.)
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced prototyping or low-rate production environments
  • Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and continuity testers
  • Ability to communicate effectively between design and build teams to resolve technical challenges
  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one

Desired:

  • Experience supporting unmanned systems or small aircraft electrical subsystems
  • Familiarity with mil-spec components and cable standards
  • Working knowledge of RF systems, EMI/EMC considerations, and signal integrity
  • Experience using ECAD software (e.g., Altium, OrCAD) for circuit design or layout
  • Experience with configuration management tools or PLM systems
