As a Data Engineer I you will be a critical player in Careforth’s Data & Analytics department. You will participate and influence technical design discussions collaborating with the application engineering teams to ensure robust and scalable integration across Careforth’s products. The ideal candidate has experience with Python, SQL, and Apache Spark, a passion for the data domain, and a background in data engineering, having worked on data pipelines and models that handle complex large-scale data processing and analytics use cases.

• Develop a sound understanding of the architecture already in place
• Assist in the design of robust, scalable and secure data processing systems within the evolving data infrastructure of Careforth’s products and solutions
• Build frameworks, tooling, and pipelines in collaboration with senior data engineers that address the partner data integration requirements
• Use agile/scrum methodology to ensure sprint commitments are met regularly
• Perform code reviews to enforce code quality and standards
• Troubleshoot processes in production to fix functional bugs and/or performance issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 1-3 years’ of experience doing data engineering work is required
• Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, and data modeling
• Proficient in SQL is required  (dbt is a plus)
• High level of proficiency in Python is required, with some familiarity with the following programming languages ideal -  Java, Scala
• Demonstrated experience using ETL tools for a data pipeline
• Experience working with cloud computing services is required (AWS is a plus)
• Experience with Docker, Github Actions is a plus
• Experience working with Spark for large-scale data processing is a major plus

The pay range for this position is $80-,280- $99,000. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
