The Role

The Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining and driving the enterprise-wide architecture vision, ensuring alignment between business goals and technology strategy. This individual leads the Enterprise Architecture (EA) group and serves as a key advisor to executive leadership on technology investments, innovation, and transformation initiatives. This role is accountable for establishing architectural standards, frameworks, and governance models that guide the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and sustainable technology solutions. The Sr. Director partners closely with business and IT leaders to ensure that enterprise architecture enables agility, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.

  • Strategic Vision: Lead the development and evolution of enterprise architecture strategy and roadmaps, ensuring they align with and support the overarching business goals. Your vision will drive the future of technology at Deckers Brands.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives and senior business leaders. Your ability to influence and collaborate will drive alignment and support for architectural initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly assessing and refining architectural practices, tools, and methodologies. Your commitment to excellence will ensure that Deckers Brands remains agile and responsive to changing business needs.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Technology Management or Business Administration preferred.
  • TOGAF, Zachman, or other enterprise architecture certifications are a plus.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, or IT leadership roles within large, complex global organizations.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks, digital transformation, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional architecture initiatives across application, data, infrastructure, and security domains.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with C-level executives and senior business stakeholders.
  • 10+ years of prior management experience, including building and leading high-performing architecture teams.
  • Experience in the footwear, apparel, or consumer products industry is a plus but not required.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into technology roadmaps.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of modern technology stacks, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and integration patterns.
  • Proficiency in architecture modeling tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to drive innovation and manage change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on enterprise-scale impact.

$250,000 - $260,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
