Interaction Designer, YouTube ACE GenAI

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
• 1 year of experience leading design projects.
• Experience with AI/ML.
• Experience with designing camera or creation products, AI/generative, or high complexity consumer products/applications.
• Excellent investigative, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

This role will sit with ACE’s GenAI team and is focused on inventing the future of creation. We aim to remove creative roadblocks and unlock new ways to tell stories, while ensuring creator autonomy and flexibility.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:

• Design, validate, and refine feature experiences for generative AI creation on YouTube.
• Work with UXR to understand and anticipate user trends and needs and iterate on design solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across YouTube to contribute to product design principles and guidelines for genAI.
• Build cross-functional alignment between ACE genAI workstreams and partner teams across YouTube (e.g., YouTube Shorts, YouTube Create, etc).
  
• Maintain an active line into other generative work and Cross-product-area initiatives across Google, exploring opportunities for collaboration or knowledge share.
