Visual Designer, YouTube Design System

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 4 years of experience in UI/Visual Design.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
  
• 1 year of experience leading design projects.
  
• Experience with building visual systems, developing relevant documentation, and applying the visual system across multiple surfaces.
• Experience in Motion/Visual Design.
• Ability to translate art direction into design concepts.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:

• Create mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas. Design, develop, and document patterns, guidelines and best practices for functional UI patterns for YouTube. 
• Work with cross-functional teams to strategize and build compelling user-centric visions. Design, art direct, and deliver compelling concepts and proposals for complex design problems. Identify opportunities and define strategies to apply the visual system across products.
• Translate concepts and interactions into simple, elegant, and coherent design, and define and take user journeys from concepts through implementation.
• Help align visual direction, process/procedures,, and ensure implementation, consistency and process needed to achieve great quality and consistency.
