The HP Strategic Alliances team oversees HP's relationships with six key partners: Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Microsoft, Google, and Qualcomm. These partnerships range from small incubation projects to major strategic initiatives and ongoing operations and negotiations. The team supports all HP Divisions across Personal Systems, HP Solutions, Technology and Innovation Organization, and Print business groups.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Strategic Alliances Strategy Manager to join our dynamic team.
As the Strategic Alliances Strategy Manager, you will work across all six partners and be responsible for silicon and OS strategy and planning, as well as executive communication. This role requires a deep understanding of the technology landscape, strong leadership skills, and the ability to influence and collaborate with executives within HP (primarily) and partner organizations (as needed).
Key Responsibilities:
Define and evolve HP's silicon and OS strategy:
Stay on top of HP, PS, and GBU business and portfolio strategy.
Maintain a deep understanding of partners’ strategies, priorities, and roadmaps.
Understand technology trends and shifts in customer preferences.
Define choice points and make clear recommendations.
Develop plans for CPUs, GPUs, and OS to maximize profitability:
Understand the structure of CPU, GPU, and OS pricing and cost structures.
Monitor and derive insights from CPU-level profitability trends, improving reporting accuracy.
Create volume, cost, and funding plans aligned with HP's long-term plan and strategic objectives.
Facilitate executive meetings preparation with alliance partners:
Programs manage the preparation process for alliance meetings at different levels (up to CEO level).
Develop detailed analysis and high-level strategic synthesis for executive-level reviews.
Experience Required:
An ideal candidate is a team-player who feels comfortable working across teams and organizations with the following attributes:
Strategic thinking skills and experience in a strategy function
Business planning skills and experience building short-term and long-term plans, good understanding of the P&L, strong business acumen
Excellent written and verbal executive communication, ability to synthesize the complex, articulate answers succinctly
Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in strategy-related roles from within the technology industry, management consulting or investment banking.
5+ years’ experience in the technology industry In-depth knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitive dynamics landscape gained from working within the technology industry (and ideally within the PC Ecosystem—PC, Silicon, OS).
The pay range for this role is $130,350 to $200,750 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
