The Judicial Financial Clerk Lead provides para-professional assistance and support to a highly detail-oriented business support function within the Judicial Branch. Provides assistance to Superior Court Finance Manager regarding activities in the CGI Advantage Finance System and related functions; review payment vouchers for approval.
Standard Judicial Branch business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. This position will allow for a telework schedule up to 3 days per week dependent on the needs of the Judicial Branch.

Education:
High school diploma or GED
Experience:
Three (3) years of financial systems experience
OR
Combined Education and Experience Qualifications:
Equivalent experience as a Financial Clerk may substitute for the education and experience requirements on a year for year basis.
Our Preferred Candidate Has:
Associate’s degree in business administration, public administration, or other related field.
Intermediate Excel proficiency and above.
Experience working with other electronic finance, accounting, or budget systems.
Experience using CGI Advantage Finance System.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Basic accounting principles, finance processes, paying and working with invoices/payment vouchers.
Skill in:
The use of personal computers and job-related software applications is required.
Effective oral and written communication.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Ability to:
Provide excellent customer service.
Multitask and cope within a high volume and time-critical work environment.
Learn to use the CGI Advantage Financial System.
Essential Job Tasks
(This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.)
Performs duties of a lead nature, developing and approving financial documents, and assisting Judicial Financial Clerks with complex issues or problem resolution.
Assists in the approval of, and research of, issues applicable to CGI and the “GAX1D, IN and INVSS” documents.
Oversee specific duties, functions, or projects within the scope of the duties of the Administrative Supervisor.
May provide supervisory oversight of Judicial Financial Clerks in the absence of the supervisor to include assigning and monitoring the workload.
Assists CGI System users with problem resolutions.
Update financial data and assist with the preparation or distribution of financial reports.
Assists with researching and resolving issues related to the payment of vendors.
Provides support in the gathering of information and documentation during the annual Judicial Branch budget preparation.
Identifies problems, and research discrepancies and/or complex issues using current and pre-CGI Advantage historical information.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to communicate clearly, perceive details of objects that are close by, and maintain various physical positions for extended periods, such as sitting, standing, or walking. The job may involve using hands for tasks such as typing, handling objects, or operating tools, as well as reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee may be required to move or lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

The Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County participates in the State Retirement systems ASRS or PSPRS. As such, mandatory membership for all full-time employees includes payroll deducted contributions consistent with each retirement system's requirements. The current contribution rate for ASRS is 12.27% and the current contribution rate for PSPRS is 5.84% and up for the defined contribution plan and 8.82% for the defined benefit plan. Judicial Branch facilities are located throughout Maricopa County. This position may be reassigned to other locations. Assignments will be made based upon the needs of the department.
