Job Description

About this job

Have you ever wondered whether Millennials are truly different from Gen Z? Or how emerging technologies will reshape our everyday lives? At the NIQ Consumer Behavior and Insights team, we help shape the products and experiences of the future by delivering fact-based insights into consumer attitudes, behaviors, and trends.

As part of this boutique, consultative arm of NielsenIQ, you’ll design custom research studies that answer complex questions for a growing roster of Fortune 500 brands. This work requires deep thinking, creativity, and a strong grasp of both methodology and business context to uncover the who, what, where, why, and how behind consumer decision-making.

If you’re curious, collaborative, and passionate about designing smart research and telling powerful stories, join the NIQ Consumer Behavior and Insights team—where our goal is to show the world what people want.

Job Purpose

· Help leading brands navigate the marketplace and identify opportunities for future growth through custom, quantitative research

· Support the client consulting team in designing and executing high-impact studies that address complex business questions

· Develop insight-driven reports that represent the voice of the consumer and translate data into clear, actionable business recommendations

· Manage research projects from kickoff to delivery, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and client expectations are consistently met

· Contribute to revenue growth by delivering high-quality work, fostering strong client relationships, and driving project success

Responsibilities

As an Associate Manager, you will primarily be focused on supporting the consulting team. Under the direction of senior members on the team, you will collaborate with clients to understand their needs, design and conduct quantitative research, and translate research findings into actionable recommendations. Specific responsibilities include:

Client Leadership

· Act as a trusted partner to clients by proactively managing day-to-day communications, anticipating needs, and ensuring high-quality delivery

· Guide project workstreams, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining alignment with client business objectives

· Contribute to strategic discussions by grounding client decisions in data and surfacing actionable insights

· Represent the research team with confidence in presentations and client meetings, articulating both methodological rigor and business relevance

---

Survey Design & Methodology

· Guide the development of survey instruments that are methodologically sound and tightly aligned with business questions

· Guide decisions on sampling strategy, respondent targeting, and data collection methods to ensure data quality and relevance

· Implement advanced quantitative techniques (e.g., MaxDiff, TURF, segmentation) where appropriate, with support from senior methodologists

· Manage survey programming and testing processes with a sharp eye for logic, flow, and user experience

---

Analytics & Storytelling

· Own the initial analysis of complex data sets, identifying patterns, anomalies, and compelling narratives that address core research objectives

· Synthesize findings into clear, business-focused insights that drive strategic decisions

· Build high-impact deliverables—decks, reports—that go beyond data reporting to influence client actions

· Collaborate internal teams to enhance primary research by connecting dots using contextual data sets

Team Collaboration & Leadership

· Mentor analyst team members by providing thoughtful feedback, sharing best practices, and creating opportunities for skill development

· Collaborate operations teams to ensure seamless project execution

· Contribute to a culture of accountability, curiosity, and a commitment to delivering work that inspires confidence and action

· Curiosity, creativity, and a passion for understanding consumers and shaping business strategy through data

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, social sciences, or a related field; advanced degree a plus

· 3+ years of experience in quantitative market research, consulting, or related fields, with a strong foundation in survey-based methodologies

· Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work on time and on budget

· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience interpreting complex data and translating it into clear, actionable insights

· Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace Suite, and survey tools; experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Q) is a plus

· Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to both internal stakeholders and clients

· A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions and contribute to a team-oriented culture
