ProSource360 Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to support the 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. 711 HPW is the first human-centric warfare wing to consolidate human performance research, education, and consultation under a single organization. The Data Scientist will provide technical expertise to support the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), specifically within the Aerospace Medicine Consultation Division. This position focuses on developing and deploying machine learning algorithms, data analysis, and engineering AI-enabled decision support tools for clinical and operational use.

Responsibilities

 The Data Scientist will be responsible for designing and coding predictive analytics and clustering models that support human performance and medical consultation. He/She/They will work collaboratively with USAFSAM staff and software engineers to advance operational readiness through artificial intelligence, while maintaining compliance with data privacy standards. Additional responsibilities:

• Develop, deploy, and tune unsupervised, tree-based clustering models
• Implement and explain algorithms such as decision trees, k-nearest neighbors, and clustering techniques
• Build optimized list sorting and distance matrix algorithms using vectorized code
• Collaborate with engineers to develop AI dashboards and visualization tools
• Utilize Python libraries (e.g., Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn) for data manipulation and modeling
• Apply dimensionality reduction techniques and use deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Support ongoing projects related to human biology, physiology, and performance
• Complete HIPAA training and maintain standards to protect sensitive health data
• Prevent data leaks and ensure secure data processing throughout the lifecycle

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applied quantitative field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Operations Research, or Economics
• Minimum of 3 years of experience deploying predictive analytics and machine learning models
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming
• Experience with data manipulation and plotting tools (e.g., Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib)
• Experience with machine learning software such as Scikit-learn
• Ability to code from scratch core algorithms and develop optimized, vectorized code
• HIPAA compliance training required upon start
• US Citizenship required

Highly Desired Skills

• Experience developing dashboards or interactive tools in partnership with software engineers
• Knowledge of pre-trained language models and natural language processing
• Familiarity with dimensionality reduction methods (e.g., PCA, t-SNE)
• Experience using GPU-enabled deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Previous experience supporting USAFSAM
• Educational or research background in human biology or human performance
