JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of the Outside Parts Salesperson is the merchandising of parts and services within assigned territory.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains liaison with important customers, such as garages, jobbers, fleet owners, and leasing companies
- Promotes the sales of parts and accessories and is an advisor to wholesale or retail customers
- Submit and track parts orders to ensure proper Customer service
- In conjunction with Credit Manager, establishes method of payment on wholesale parts and obtains approval of credit, if necessary
- Spends a part of each day in solicitation of new business
- Maintains parts-related correspondence
- Arranges for and/or conducts shopping surveys of mass merchandising outlets selling fast-moving, competitive parts
- Keeps abreast of new products
- Keeps Parts Manager abreast of marketing and merchandising conditions in the field
- Maintains consistent communication with manager
- Daily use of call reporting through CRM software
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, some college is a plus
- Must be proficient with computers to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Products
- Must be able to manage time and tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of transportation industry and/or Class 8 Parts knowledge
- Must have a clean driving record
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to work a minimum of 45 hours/week
- Must have great organizational skills and be highly reliable
