Responsibilities
- Develop and execute CFD analyses for vehicle entry stability and control challenges
- Validate CFD methodologies and establish best practices for ascent and entry flight phases
- Create aerodynamics databases incorporating uncertainty quantification from CFD, wind tunnel, and empirical data
- Design major system elements like fins, flaps, and primary structure to meet control, stability, heating, and pressure requirements
- Guide hardware engineers to ensure alignment with aerodynamic and system-level needs
- Enhance tools for aerodynamics data development, communication, and processing
