ABOUT RIGHTWAY:

Rightway is on a mission to harmonize healthcare for everyone, everywhere. Since its founding in 2017, Rightway has raised over $200mm from investors including Khosla Ventures, Thrive Capital, and Tiger Global. We’re headquartered in New York City, with a satellite office in Denver. Our clients rely on us to transform the healthcare experience, improve outcomes for their teams, and decrease their healthcare costs.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Rightway is seeking a Data Analytics Manager to lead a team of analysts embedded across our pharmacy benefit management (PBM) organization. In this role, you’ll drive an embedded analytics model by partnering directly with business leaders to manage dedicated analysts to core functional areas such as Clinical, Operations, Customer Success and Delivery.

You will lead a team of analysts who will act as strategic thought partners within their domains, delivering impactful reporting, actionable insights, and tailored data products that power operational excellence and client success. As the manager, you’ll ensure that new data definitions and analytics outputs developed by embedded analysts are validated and committed to Rightway’s centralized data platform establishing a consistent, trusted foundation for self service analytics across the organization.

You will report to the Director of Analytics and play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, quality, and consistency of PBM analytics across the company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Directly manage a team of analysts, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support to ensure excellence and retention
  • Act as the primary people manager for analysts embedded within PBM, clinical, customer success, delivery and operations teams, helping balance business priorities with team wellbeing and growth
  • Own prioritization and project oversight, ensuring analysts are aligned to the highest value workstreams within their domain and are empowered to deliver measurable impact
  • Leverage PBM expertise to help analysts navigate complex pharmacy claims data, program outcomes, and savings strategies
  • Define and guide development of scalable, validated data products and performance metrics
  • Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches and ensure clear, actionable output via dashboards, models, and presentations
  • Partner with leadership across various PBM functions to support quarterly business reviews, client deliverables, ad hoc analytics and clinical program effectiveness
  • Stay current on PBM market trends, new drugs, biosimilar transitions, and policy changes to ensure Rightway remains data-forward and clinically relevant
  • Support broader analytics infrastructure efforts such as metric standardization, governance, and version control
  • Work with Engineering and Product to enable secure, performant, and scalable analytics infrastructure

WHO YOU ARE: [key qualities and experiences they have - the “must haves” of the role]:

  • 4 years minimum experience managing analytics teams, with a strong record of effective people management including the ability to:
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative team culture promoting healthy team dynamics
  • Guide team members in both technical development (SQL, BI tooling, data modeling) and professional growth (communication, stakeholder management, strategic thinking)
  • Proactively manage performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Direct experience and working knowledge of pharmacy benefits, PBM analytics and/or healthcare data with 6-8 years of experience in quantitative analytics and conducting advanced analytic modeling and data story-telling for small and large datasets
  • Proficient in SQL, data modeling, and database technologies
  • Experience working in modern data stacks like dbt, Redshift, Snowflake
  • Proficient in data story-telling and advanced visualizations using BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Metabase)
  • Demonstrated experience in metric standardization, analytics governance, and democratization of data and insights across business units
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands on execution, ensuring timely delivery of high-impact analytics
  • Promote best practices in coding, development and analytical rigor that foster team collaboration, maintain velocity, and ensure high quality, scalable analytics solutions.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable business recommendations for technical, non technical and executive stakeholders alike
  • Passion for empowering others through data, building sustainable analytics infrastructure, and driving measurable outcomes across clinical and operational domains

EXTRA CREDIT:

  • Familiarity with Python, Pandas, Jupyter or Hex for exploratory analytics
  • Hands on AWS experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with data orchestration platforms like Airflow/Dagster

BASE SALARY: $130,000 - $165,000

HOW WE LIVE OUR VALUES TO OUR TEAMMATES:

We’re seeking those with passion for healthcare and relentless devotion to our goal. We need team members who will:

  • We are human first

Our humanity binds us together. We bring the same empathetic approach to every individual we engage with, whether it be our members, our clients, or each other. We are all worthy of respect and understanding and we engage in our interactions with care and intention. We honor our stories. We listen to—and hear—each other, we celebrate our differences and similarities, we are present for each other, and we strive for mutual understanding.

  • We redefine what is possible

We always look beyond the obstacles in front of us to imagine new solutions. We approach our work with inspiration from other industries, other leaders, and other challenges. We use ingenuity and resourcefulness when faced with tough problems.

  • We debate then commit

We believe that a spirit of open discourse is part of a healthy culture. We understand and appreciate different perspectives and we challenge our assumptions. When working toward a decision or a new solution, we actively listen to one another, approach it with a “yes, and” mentality, and assume positive intent. Once a decision is made, we align and champion it as one team.

  • We cultivate grit

Changing healthcare doesn’t happen overnight. We reflect and learn from challenges and approach the future with a determination to strive for better. In the face of daunting situations, we value persistence. We embrace failure as a stepping stone to future success. On this journey, we seek to act with guts, resilience, initiative, and tenacity.

  • We seek to delight

Healthcare is complicated and personal. We work tirelessly to meet the goals of our clients while also delivering the best experience to our members. We recognize that no matter the role or team, we each play a crucial part in our members’ care and take that responsibility seriously. When faced with an obstacle, we are kind, respectful, and solution-oriented in our approach. We hold ourselves accountable to our clients and our members’ success.
