Software/Systems Engineer

Sonalysts, Inc is seeking an experienced software engineer with critical thinking and effective communication skills to perform software engineering functions for Department of Defense (DoD) system development projects.

What you will be doing:

• Work on interesting and challenging software project such as:
  • modeling and simulation of unmanned systems and onboard sensors
  • modeling and simulation of advanced payload behaviors using analytical skills to solve problems and build prototype software products and transition them to production using modern programming languages and technologies
• Participate in various aspects of software development including Application Programming Interfaces (API) development, systems integration, database development, microservice design and development and data processing
• Participate in all areas of the software development lifecycle from planning, requirements generation and coding through testing and sustainment
• Majority of work must be performed on site at Sonalysts or Government facilities

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance*
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical degree
• 4 - 10 years experience in software engineering, systems modeling and application development
• Experience with MATLAB, python, C, and C++.

Strongly Desired Experience/Qualifications:

• Possessing an active Department of Defense SECRET security clearance*
• Experience in modeling and simulation of fixed and mobile unmanned undersea systems and the environment

*Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check.  Candidates are eligible for a clearance if they have demonstrated sound financial management (including good credit) over time, are free of criminal records, have limited foreign contacts or ties, and other factors indicative of a position of trust to protect information sensitive to the U.S. Government.
