Skills
- Experience with metadata-driven classification systems and scalable protection controls
- Strong understanding of encryption standards, key management, access controls, and data retention strategies
- Familiarity with both commercial tools (e.g., BigID, OneTrust, AWS Macie) and in-house solutions
- Ability to navigate ambiguity balancing privacy, compliance, and usability
- Excellent cross-disciplinary communication skills
Responsibilities
- Advise on data security and privacy architecture in partnership with Engineering, Legal, and Product teams
- Drive secure and privacy-respecting data design patterns at scale across diverse systems
- Manage lifecycle of sensitive data to ensure appropriate controls from ingestion to deletion
- Collaborate to define and implement scalable frameworks for metadata tagging, access governance, and encryption
- Lead design and implementation of data classification, labeling, and protection frameworks
- Guide teams on secure-by-design decisions for new features and infrastructure changes
- Establish encryption, key management, and access control standards adaptable to various environments
- Translate regulatory and business requirements into scalable technical designs
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field required
- Advanced degree preferred
