Job Description

Who You’ll Work With

As a Senior Product Line Manager, you will collaborate closely with a cross-functional teams, as well as directly engaging with customers and partners across the globe. You’ll work alongside some of the industry’s most experienced technical leaders to define and deliver products that shape the future of cloud, enterprise, and service provider networking particularly in the context of next-generation data centers and AI workloads.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will lead the definition and execution of Arista’s data center and routing platform strategies, translating customer and market needs into innovative product solutions. You’ll manage the full product lifecycle from requirement gathering and roadmap planning to go-to-market execution and field enablement—ensuring that Arista’s products remain competitive and aligned with emerging trends such as generative AI, high-performance compute, and cloud-scale networking.

  • Define, document, and prioritize product requirements to meet customer needs in close collaboration with internal engineering, sales, supply chain, and finance teams to drive timely release of new products and solutions
  • Provide product support for sales teams and customers to ensure success with major opportunities and deployments
  • Create and evangelize field facing product marketing collateral across data center switching and routing technologies, including white papers, slide decks, websites, videos, and more
  • Leverage expertise to train Arista sales and systems engineering and Arista customers about new products and solutions as part of a new product introduction (NPI) process
  • Ensure launch and release readiness with cross-functional organizations
  • Execute ongoing aspects of the product lifecycle, including interaction with a cross-functional set of teams
  • Keep up to date on competitive solutions, products, and services, with regular analysis of the industry landscape and positioning relative to Arista’s competitive differentiation
  • Represent Arista at external events, including conferences, trade shows, partner engagements, etc.

Qualifications

  • Must be a subject matter expert on technical topics related to product development, customer deployments, and ongoing product use
  • Should possess at least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, electrical engineering, computer science, information systems, or an equivalent Bachelor’s degree
  • Must possess 4-6 years of experience in the networking industry
  • Strong preference for at least 2 years of experience as a product manager. Prior experience could also include systems engineering, product marketing, or similar roles
  • Industry/technology expertise is required in one or more of the following areas: network design for large scale data centers, product and network requirements for Generative AI training and inference clusters, High-Performance Compute (HPC) technology, high-end routing products and network designs, data center trends and technologies, merchant and custom silicon offerings, switch architectures, and network automation
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated competence with business strategy and business planning, including unit/revenue/margin forecasting
  • Technical knowledge of several of the following areas: IP Routing (OSPF, BGP, ISIS), EVPN and VXLAN, MPLS & SR/SRv6, Ethernet (1G to 800G), grey and coherent pluggable optics, and leaf-spine fabric solutions
  • Strong knowledge of one or more of the following networking segments is required: Data Center, Public Cloud, Service Provider, Enterprise WAN
  • Must be able to prioritize competing opportunities, balance market needs with business priorities, manage trade-offs, and articulate the rationale behind product program recommendations
  • Must be able to write technical content (white papers, technical briefs, etc.) for external audiences with a balance of technical accuracy, strategy, and clear messaging
  • Must be able to create slide decks for internal sales & SE consumption, as well as external customer presentations for customers. Must possess equal facility to present business value propositions as well as technical details for products and commercial models alike.

Compensation Information:

The new hire base pay for this role has a salary range of $135,000 to $190,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
