Position Overview

BizFirst is supporting our client in the search for an Accountant/Financial Manager (CPA) Level III to provide expert support on the Defense Contract Audit Agency’s (DCAA) Financial Common Operating Picture (FCOP) Phase III initiative. This role is focused on the accurate compilation and reporting of financial statements, audit response, and remediation activities, ensuring all work aligns with federal standards and program requirements. The program supports audit readiness, financial data integrity, and compliance for the DCAA enterprise, helping to ensure the agency’s financial information is reliable, timely, and auditable.

Our client is a specialized management consulting firm that engages experienced professionals and consultants to support the federal government with strategic project execution, financial process optimization, automation, and advanced data analytics. Through innovative solutions, they develop and implement strategies to optimize operations for defense and federal agencies, delivering critical improvements to financial oversight and operational effectiveness.

 

Key Responsibilities

Provides financial statement compilation and reporting process as well as audit response and remediation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS). Has experience providing accounting services to Government agencies or large commercial entities.

Additional program-specific responsibilities as required by the DCAA FCOP Phase III Performance Work Statement (PWS):

  • Support the development and submission of accurate financial statements and related reports in compliance with federal and DCAA standards.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data used in reporting, audits, and internal controls.
  • Participate in audit response and remediation activities, supporting audit readiness and resolution of findings.
  • Apply expertise in GAAP and SFFAS to analyze, reconcile, and document financial information.
  • Collaborate with DCAA program managers and stakeholders to provide financial analysis and reporting insights as needed.
  • Support process improvements and automation related to financial reporting, leveraging data analytics tools where required.
  • Prepare and deliver required documentation and deliverables in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all program, security, and deliverable requirements as outlined in the PWS.
  • Attend and contribute to recurring program meetings, including preparation and timely submission of meeting minutes when required.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • More than 8 years of demonstrated experience providing accounting services to government agencies or large commercial entities
  • US citizenship required (dual/triple citizenship not permitted)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain IT III clearance (or higher)

 

 Desired Skills

  • CPA or advanced professional certification
  • Experience with DCAA programs, federal accounting standards, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with federal financial reporting systems and financial data reconciliation
  • Ability to analyze and remediate audit findings
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
