Digital Imaging Technician - On-Set DIT (Project-Based)
Skills
- Deep knowledge of digital camera systems, image processing, and data management.
- Proficiency with Mac OS and Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and DaVinci Resolve.
- Experience with ingest software such as Offshoot or Shotput Pro.
- Familiarity with video codecs, formats, and timecode formats.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with production teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to adapt to evolving workflows and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Post Production Management and Director of Photography to create and implement data management plans.
- Test and determine optimal camera settings and media workflows on set.
- Ingest, organize, and back up footage ensuring data integrity.
- Tag footage with metadata and perform quality control checks.
- Generate proxies and dailies for daily delivery according to specifications.
- Create detailed DIT logs and reports.
- Collect and manage all on-set materials including script notes and BTS footage.
- Maintain two copies of all media, ensuring backups to servers.
- Diagnose and quickly resolve technical issues on-set.
- Assist with post production equipment logistics and deliveries.
- Work on filming locations and in the BuzzFeed Office in Los Angeles.
