The Opportunity:
The Air Vehicle Planning System (APS) provides software development support for the Integrated Strategic Planning and Analysis Network (ISPAN) at United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). APS, a component of the Mission Planning and Analysis System (MPAS), is responsible for planning air vehicle missions involving various aircraft and weapon systems. The scope of work includes developing new capabilities, enhancements, and fixes to APS, as well as integrating it into the ISPAN environment. The subcontractor must use an Agile approach, delivering small, tested iterations every two to four weeks, and provide incremental documentation and updates
Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters. Implement and maintain Kubernetes best practices for security, scalability, and performance. Automate Kubernetes deployment processes using Helm charts, Kubernetes Operators, and other tools. Integrate security practices into the CI/CD pipeline. Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans on containerized applications. Implement and maintain secure coding practices and standards. Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of security into the DevOps process. Document processes, procedures, and best practices. Provide training and guidance to team members on DevSecOps practices and tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps roles. Proven experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management, deployment, and security. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, containerd).
