Position Summary
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will support the development and maintenance of existing and new applications as well as assisting in day-to-day production support activities. In this role you will design, code, test, debug, document, deploy, and support solutions that support overall success of the organization. This role will be working on Broker Commissions applications across multiple projects and enhancements that support the Commissions lines of business. The Senior Software Development Engineer requires extensive knowledge and proven experience in technical projects in development, design and delivery of complex business solutions built on a Java framework and various technology stacks to support integrations. The success of this position is directly coupled to bringing agile development best practices to build manageable, scalable, and high-performance java code. You will use your knowledge of writing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views for ad-hoc, and recurring standard reports or load automation. To be successful in this role you must have superior design and development ability with strong analytical skills. You will work along with project managers, architects, development team members and analysts to build, maintain enterprise-level software solutions, and provide technical support in new project initiatives, design, develop and enhance existing systems, assist in functionality documentation, technical documentation and system testing and quality assurance. You must have knowledge and experience with Commissions applications including best practices, java development as well as experience working with enterprise data integrations and be able to help define long term strategies. The Senior Software Development Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment for a growing business. You will work in a team of back-end and front-end developers supporting all phases of the Commissions business. A thorough understanding of all the components of application development life cycle is required.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
• 5+ years of experience developing and enhancing applications using technologies; Java, SoapUI, Entity Framework, HTML, CSS and Web API, DB2 and UDB
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or DB2 database development experience, Writing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views for ad-hoc, and recurring standard reports or file builds, troubleshooting, and tuning
• 3+ years of experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)/
• 3+ years of experience collaborating with other associates to design solutions that efficiently deliver the required enhancements on time and within budget

• 1+ years of experience with GitHub Copilot and or knowledge of AI


Preferred Qualifications
Insurance Industry knowledge a plus
• SAP Hana knowledge a plus
• Experience in various testing methods, performance, load, stress etc DevOps experience to insure the delivery of an application with the appropriate documentations and on-going support
• Experience working with remote business and IT partners
• Experience with Integration with various systems, platforms, and data migration
• Experience in various testing methods, performance, load, stress etc
• Experience on Microsoft AZURE/GCP Cloud
• Experience on AI technologies

EducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
