Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a compliant legal system suited for a public company
- Review all contracts including supply chain agreements
- Lead capital-related legal activities such as mergers, acquisitions, and legal negotiations
- Manage compliance requirements and litigation matters for a public company
- Oversee legal functions supporting corporate internal operations including IP and labor law
- Develop and implement comprehensive programs for legal and ethical compliance
- Implement and manage compliance policies, protocols, and training
- Audit company policies and procedures to identify potential risks
- Investigate legal and ethical compliance violations
- Develop risk-based action plans based on audits and investigations
- Coordinate with regulatory and government officials and manage government reporting
- Advise management on legal and ethical compliance matters
- Develop and provide training on compliance topics
- Collaborate with legal team and internal business stakeholders
- Manage external legal resources and control associated costs
Education
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission or eligibility to practice law in California
