Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of restraint systems such as airbags and seat belts to meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams focused on occupant protection.
- Collaborate with restraint suppliers and CAE teams on simulation and correlated component models.
- Support and oversee physical crash, sled, and component-level testing for safety validation.
- Work cross-functionally with vehicle integration, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.
- Drive research into next-generation restraint technologies like adaptive restraints.
- Mentor junior engineers to foster technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Manage projects from concept through production, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Ensure compliance with global safety regulations including FMVSS, Euro NCAP, and IIHS.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field required.
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred.
