ORTHOPEDIC MEDICAL ASSISTANT FOR PRIVATE PRACTICE

Description

Position: Medical Assistant for a growing orthopedic practice

* Have you always been intrigued by orthopedics, spine care, or sports medicine? We are a growing orthopedic & spine clinic that recently hired a new provider. We are looking for an experienced medical assistant for our Flagstaff clinic. We hope you have the qualifications, work ethic, valuable skills, and drive for excellence FBJ seeks for very important role.  


Type: Full-time, 40 hours, 5 days per week, no weekends (exception: would consider 30/week for right candidate)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, hours vary during open clinic times

Pay: Competitive pay rate, DOE (depending on experience) plus benefits and Paid Time Off 


Responsibilities include:

  • Prep room for provider and patient
  • Patient intake and rooming – keeping up with high volume and efficiency
  • Obtain height, weight, vitals, medical & family history
  • Communicate with patients via patient portal emails, telephone calls, and one-on-one
  • Provide patient education, schedule appointments, answer questions and triage
  • Document patients’ lab and other testing results
  • Suture and staple removal
  • Draw and prep sterile injections
  • Use positivity and critical thinking to work through challenging situations quickly 

Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification, REQUIRED (Exception: candidates who have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program are eligible, even if they aren’t currently certified)
  • 1-year plus of patient care and/or clinical experience, REQUIRED
  • Sports Medicine / Orthopedics experience, PREFERRED
  • Must have a proven work ethic, demonstrating reliability and excellent attendance
  • Must be flexible with daily or weekly schedules, per the needs of the clinic
  • Must have a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Must be adaptable and productive in high-volume, fast-paced clinics
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must be a master in multi-tasking while paying attention to details
  • Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a self-motivated individual capable of working both in a team and independently
  • Must understand and comply with healthcare privacy laws

Benefits details - FBJ offers the following benefit programs (for full-time employees):

  • Medical Insurance – Blue Cross Blue Shield of AZ (must work 30 hrs / week or more)
  • Medical benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days
  • Annually, FBJ contributes the equivalent of $448 monthly to offset the cost for employees premiums

Group Information- Flagstaff Bone and Joint, PLLC:

  • We are a well-established, private practice providing quality musculoskeletal care to Northern Arizona since 1978.
  • Our center strives to provide state-of-the-art care along with comprehensive medical education and superior customer service.
  • Our main location is in Flagstaff, and our secondary location is in Kingman, Arizona. We have 2 other Arizona clinic locations: Cottonwood and Sedona.
  • Flagstaff Bone and Joint has 24 providers with 8 physicians who are all Board Certified and Fellowship trained.
  • Our center provides integrated ancillary services for patient convenience including digital x-ray, ultrasound, custom bracing, durable medical equipment, EMG/nerve conduction studies, and occupational and physical therapy.
