Description
We are seeking a part-time teacher to lead fun and engaging STEM-based workshops with groups of elementary school students after school. Instructors will focus on game design- analyze a variety of existing chance, strategy, and role-playing games, and then design/build their own individually or in small groups. This games workshop is a fun way to build confidence and develop students' storytelling, collaborative, and creative abilities. The scheduled hours for Instructors are from 2:30pm to 5:00PM, when NYC public schools are in session.
Instructors are the educators (Teachers, Coaches, Teaching Artists, etc.), who give instruction and leadership in specialized activities in after-school programs. These “club” activities can be artistic, athletic, academic, or recreational in nature. Activity Specialists are school teachers, experts in specific fields of study/endeavor, or individuals with comparable qualifications.
