Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our Drug Formulation team focused on the development and in-depth characterization of non-viral delivery systems, particularly lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). The successful candidate will play a critical role in the analytical evaluation of nanoparticle-based formulations and drug products, applying a wide range of techniques to support formulation development, stability assessment, and product optimization.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive characterization of nanoparticle formulations, including size, polydispersity, surface charge, encapsulation efficiency, drug loading, and release kinetics
• Apply a broad set of analytical techniques such as DLS, NTA, UV-Vis spectroscopy, SEC, SDS-PAGE, HPLC, and fluorescence-based assays to evaluate both nanoparticles and drug products
• Design and complete formulation studies, analyze physicochemical stability, and contribute to the selection of lead formulations for RNA/gene-based therapies
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot formulation challenges and propose data-driven solutions
• Perform data and statistical analyses using Excel and GraphPad Prism.
• Maintain accurate, detailed and timely records in electronic notebooks and generate internal technical reports as needed
• Summarize experimental results and present findings at internal meetings
• Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Excellent scientific presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills and can work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements: Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years, Master’s with 4+ years, or Ph.D. with 1+ year of experience in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience in nanoparticle formulation and analytical characterization is required
• Prior work with nucleic acid delivery systems, especially lipid-based or polymeric nanoparticles, is strongly preferred

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in physicochemical and biochemical characterization techniques, including:
• Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA)
• Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC)
• UV-Vis Spectroscopy, HPLC, SDS-PAGE
• Fluorescence-based assays, protein quantification methods
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills using GraphPad Prism, Excel, or similar tools
• Familiarity with stability testing, release profiling, and formulation optimization

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects

Salary Range

$89,000 - $119,267 a year
