The selected candidate is an early career professional with software development engineering experience and interest in technical computing for remote sensing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in software engineering teams on concurrent development projects, often with overlapping technical objectives for product design and performance.
• Implement and test advanced signal and image processing algorithms in the context of open architecture software frameworks, developing compliant applications for use on state-of-the-art remote sensing systems and embedded within advanced sensors.
• Employ DevOps practices and tools for efficient code development.

Work Environment:

• Location: On-site
• Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
• Working Hours: Flexible

Qualifications:

Required:

• Education: Academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science, with accompanying years of relevant experience as indicated:
  • Bachelor's + 2 years
  • Master's degree
• Experience: 
  • Demonstrated background, relevant experience, or technical interest in the development of remote sensing technologies (systems, software)
  • Demonstrable successful performance in the area of software development
  • Experience in executing software development in the context of modern methodologies and practices (Agile, DevOps)
  • Proficiency in formal code development in C++
  • Familiarity with other scientific/engineering development languages, such as MATLAB and/or Python
• Work Style: Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance which typically requires U.S. citizenship

Desired:

• Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Experience working with MATLAB engineering analysis code
• Proficiency in Python programming language
• Record of published research (cited as author or contributor) of relevance, in peer-reviewed journals and/or technical conference proceedings
