Engineering Manager - Laser Test
Skills
- Expertise in photonics and laser test engineering
- Experience with automated optical/electrical test systems
- Proficiency in test automation tools such as Python or LabVIEW
- Familiarity with program management tools (JIRA, Asana, MS Project)
- Knowledge of reliability standards and compliance (Telcordia GR-468, IEC 60825)
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Experience in integrated photonics platforms (InP, SiPh, hybrid)
Responsibilities
- Define and implement test strategies for semiconductor laser and photonic integrated circuit characterization, validation, and manufacturing qualification.
- Oversee design, deployment, and scaling of automated test setups including probe stations and temperature-controlled environments.
- Own program-level milestones for test readiness, execution tracking, and cross-functional alignment.
- Collaborate with design teams to establish design for test criteria ensuring efficient device testability.
- Coordinate test flow transitions from R&D to high-volume manufacturing including SPC implementation and yield monitoring.
- Manage relationships with foundries, supply chain, capital equipment vendors, and oversee outsourced test services.
- Lead and mentor a team of test engineers supporting laser and photonics test activities.
Education
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Photonics or related field
