As part of our separation from our parent company, Medtronic, we are building a standalone organization with leaders to enable strategic growth and operational excellence (link to press release Medtronic Diabetes intent to separate). To that end, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, IT Transformation and Separation, to lead our IT separation, transition, and optimization efforts as we establish an independent IT function

The Director, IT Transformation and Separation, will be responsible for leading the IT separation strategy and execution, ensuring readiness for Day 1 operations and a smooth transition from the parent company. This role will also oversee the management and optimization of Transition Service Agreements (TSAs) and drive IT delivery improvements through the establishment of a Global Capability Center (GCC) and the effective use of processes, data, and technology. This is a high-impact, strategic role requiring strong leadership, execution capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Separation Readiness and Execution:

   - Lead the IT separation strategy and execution plan to ensure successful Day 1 operations.

   - Develop and manage the roadmap for IT separation, identifying critical dependencies, risks, and milestones.

   - Collaborate with business and IT leaders to minimize disruption and ensure business continuity.

TSA (Transition Service Agreement) Management and Optimization:

   - Manage all IT-related TSAs with the parent company, ensuring service continuity and contract compliance.

   - Identify opportunities to reduce dependency on TSAs and accelerate the transition to standalone operations.

   - Establish performance monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track TSA performance and cost effectiveness.

   - Negotiate and manage amendments to TSAs as needed to align with business objectives.

IT Delivery Optimization through GCC and Technology:

   - Lead the establishment and scaling of a Global Capability Center (GCC) to enhance IT service delivery.

   - Develop and implement strategies to leverage the GCC for cost efficiency, talent development, and service excellence.

   - Drive process, data, and technology optimizations to improve IT operational performance and scalability.

   - Implement governance structures and KPIs to measure and drive continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

   - Act as the primary point of contact for IT separation and transformation efforts with executive stakeholders.

   - Provide regular updates to senior leadership on separation progress, risks, and mitigation plans.

   - Partner with business and functional leaders to ensure alignment on IT transformation goals.

Leadership and Team Development:

   - Provide mentorship and career development opportunities for team members.

   - Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results orientation.

Basic Qualifications (must have):

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

- 12+ years of experience in IT strategy, transformation, and operations leadership roles.

- Proven track record of leading large-scale IT separation and transition programs.

- Strong understanding of TSA management and service optimization.

- Experience in building and managing Global Capability Centers (GCC).

- Deep knowledge of IT service delivery models, infrastructure, and business systems.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):

- Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

- Experience working in global, complex, and matrixed organizations.
