Position Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Location: Remote (US Only)
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Position Overview

The CTO will direct a team of blockchain, security, cryptography, token-incentive, and product engineers to design and develop – then maintain, and continually improve – the technological components and infrastructure of the company's system.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Elaborate and implement the company’s technical vision and strategy.

  • Lead and scale the technology team, including engineering, DevOps, security, tokenomics, IT, and data functions.

  • Evaluate and implement new systems and infrastructure

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly regarding agentic AI, cryptography, security, and tokenomics.

• Team Management

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier engineering and technology talent.

  • Establish clear KPIs and performance standards for the technology team.

  • Promote a culture of inspiration, innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

• Product & Development Oversight

  • Oversee the design and development of products, features, and platforms.

  • Ensure robust architecture, scalability, security, and performance of all technical systems.

  • Drive agile development processes and continuous integration/deployment best practices.

• Security & Compliance

  • Ensure leading edge data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations

• Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product, data science, marketing, and operations to align technology with business priorities.

  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in a senior technology role (CTO, VP, Director of Engineering) leading a complex software development company or project

• Proven track record of scaling technology teams and delivering complex projects.

• Deep knowledge of Cosmos SDK, security/cryptography, confidential computing, and blockchain.

• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated excellence as a motivating team lead

• Proven ability to sprint for up to 5 months consecutively

• 6+ years leading software development teams

• 3+ years architecting/Engineering main net blockchain project

• 2+ years as lead cryptographic architect/engineer

• 1+ year as quantum cryptography architect/engineer

• 2+ years on a board of directors as a technical/security/cryptography expert engaging in high-level decision-making with business leaders re: product design

• Experience leading in a startup or high-growth environment.

• Demonstrated excellence in precise technical communication to engineers, less technical team members, and decision makers

• Impeccable integrity

• High/consistent social-emotional intelligence and fluency

• Excellent demonstrated architecture and diagramming skills

• Consistently positive/encouraging attitude

• Demonstrated CI/CD and DevOps capability

• Continually updating knowledge of state of the art in blockchain, security, cryptography

Nice to Have

• 2+ years experience working in early stage startups

• Familiarity with Tendermint, CosmWasm, Pinecone, Neo4, CI/CD, DevOps, Cursor.

• Background in blockchain, cryptography, security, encryption, federated learning, data science
