Since 2005, Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center has served as a multidisciplinary hub, bringing together detectives, child protection workers, medical and mental health providers, and prosecutors to respond collaboratively to child abuse allegations. Our mission is to protect and heal children, unite key partners, and engage the community to end child abuse.


Position Title: Client Services Specialist - Bilingual Preferred (Part-time/Non-exempt)

Reports to: Operations Manager

Starting salary: $17.50/hour

Work Hours: Approximately 16 hours per week (2 weekdays, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with opportunity for additional shifts; may include occasional evenings). All work will be onsite and in-person.


Position Summary

The Client Services Specialist (CSS) at PPCAC provides client, family, and agency support in The Healing Center and the Response Services Program. The Client Service Specialist greets children and families at both sites and welcomes partners and visitors to the Center. The CSS ensures a child-friendly environment for children and families receiving services at Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center. The CSS ensures safe and efficient client and visitor access to the building, uses trauma-informed skills to support and maintain the safety of children and caregivers in common areas, provides administrative support and assistance to program personnel, and assists in special projects related to the work and mission of Pat’s Place. CSSs may work rotating shifts with variable hours, including 1-2 evenings per week.


Client Support

  • Ensures child safety in the waiting room by regularly monitoring and “eyes on” or direct supervision of children when appropriate.
  • Provides support to children seen in the Pat’s Place Mental Health program using play, art, recreation, conversation, and other forms of self-expression with the children while in the waiting room.
  • Provides support as needed to non-offending caregivers in the common client services areas.
  • Receives calls from parents and community members seeking support and information related to child abuse, sexualized behaviors, and Pat’s Place services.

Client Flow and Facility Management

  • Ensures the safety and comfort of clients and visitors by overseeing the facility, including security features, cleanliness, and the waiting room environment.
  • Ensures that visitors are welcomed and guided to appropriate professionals.
  • Ensures client and facility supplies are stocked and available for seamless client flow.
  • Assists in ensuring that office equipment, including communication tools, white noise machines and temperature control devices are in working order to ensure a productive, comfortable, and timely experience for clients and partners.
  • Ensures that toys and books in the waiting room are age-appropriate and culturally diverse.

Program Assistance

  • Manages clinical appointment calendar; confirms appointments with caregivers.
  • Assists PPCAC Program personnel as needed with the creation of therapeutic or age-appropriate activities
  • Input client service data as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and other program and agency events.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Requirements


Required Qualifications

  • High school education is required
  • Two or more years working with children and families


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Some post-high school training or education in child development, psychology, or social work

Work Hours and Practice Location:

Expected to work on-site unless negotiated with direct supervisor.

Potential to travel between two agency sites may be required for daily job duties.
