Photography Associate

The Photography Associate supports the Photography team in all aspects of day-to-day operations. Specific areas of focus include editing and archiving PGA TOUR photography, creating caption templates for freelance and staff photographers, liaising with Media Rights Management department specific to photo rights and our relationship with Getty Images, capturing and processing of player and staff head shots, and assisting other departments at the TOUR with their photo usage and research needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in digital media, Journalism, Television/Film Production, Broadcast Journalism, Communications and/or related area of study
• At least one year of hands-on experience in digital photography support and/or coordination with an emphasis on editing, archiving, distribution, and research of photographic assets
• Proficient experience with metadata entry in Photo Mechanic, or comparable platform, and photo editing in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
• Strong understanding of proper image composition and photographic principles
• Familiarity with Nikon and Sony digital cameras, lenses, and accessories
• Background in sports and sporting event photography required; interest in golf and golf tournament photography preferred
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure in a team environment
• Strong writing and photo captioning skills including grammar, style and spelling
• Commitment to a high-quality work product that meets and exceeds brand and fan standards
• Able to safely operate a utility vehicle such as, but not limited to, a 2, 4, and 6 passenger golf cart/utility cart with other passengers and photographic equipment

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Research and edit stored historical images as needed
• Work closely with Photographers, Project Manager(s), and Producers to fill requests
• Occasionally photograph events at Global Home, PGA TOUR Studios, or charity events in the community
• Photograph employee headshots and process for Outlook and Workday
• Process Player headshots for leaderboards, bio pages, and other various uses and needs
• Edit and caption images for photographers in the field and upload to Getty and Scoreplay
• Create Excel template(s) for Photo Mechanic hot codes for photographers to use
• May travel to assigned tournaments to photograph golf with an emphasis on excitement, emotion, personality and lifestyle
• Photograph action, scenic, charity and general TOUR business activities as requested
• Photoshop selected photos for upload to image partner website, department server and integration into the Media Asset Management (MAM) system as requested
• Keep abreast of current trends in photography and new technologies
• Other projects and duties with Creative Studios or other departments as assigned
