Skills
- Proficiency in 3D & 2D design/drafting per ASME Y14.5M (NX preferred)
- Interpersonal skills to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing groups
- Knowledge of primary vehicle structures, machining, assembly, and tooling
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Self-motivation and ability to prioritize in high-pressure contexts
Responsibilities
- Own and co-own introduction of new manufacturing processes for primary structures on Terran R
- Develop technical expertise and process design for complex manufacturing methods
- Establish initial work cells with assembly operations, tooling and equipment requirements, and rate targets
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, reliability engineers, production teams, and vendors
- Provide shop floor support through real-time issue resolution and feedback for manufacturing innovation
- Deliver Design for Manufacturing input during development and prototype builds
Education
- Bachelor's degree in aeronautical, mechanical, or related engineering discipline
