Job Description

The Value Based Platform & Strategic Operations Lead will provide key operational leadership and support to the Business Lead, Value-Based Platform at Risant Health. This role will oversee day-to-day operations while supporting strategic planning, performance tracking, and other critical efforts as Risant scales.

As part of a growing, startup-phase organization, this hands-on leader must be proactive in identifying needs, developing solutions, and driving execution across multiple operational areas. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, comfortable in a dynamic environment, and skilled at balancing strategic and tactical work.

This role reports to the Business Lead for the Value-Based Platform and collaborates closely with VBP product and service teams, Finance, executive stakeholders across Risant Health, Kaiser Permanente, our health system partners, and other key functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key responsibilities and tasks of the Value Based Platform Strategic Operations Lead include but are not limited to:

Executive Communications

  • Manage rhythm of business related to consultations with all stakeholders and formulation of agendas and content for executive communications
  • Board, CEO, RHO leadership team and RLT communications

Strategic Alignment & Planning

  • Partner with product leadership to ensure Strategic Roadmap alignment with overall Risant enterprise strategy
  • Track and develop internal and external communications regarding the Strategic Roadmap

Oversee Delivery Organization

  • Build Product/Solution Delivery Team, including, but not limited to a lead, managers, and analysts to support the product and tech organizations in managing the solution delivery life cycle
  • Track and report on expenditure and resource commitment regarding development and implementation of VBP solutions

Function Performance Management

  • Collaborative formulation of goals to implement a performance management process, such as Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
  • Manage quarterly functional performance reviews and prioritization
  • Accurately track & report performance

Budget Planning

  • Partner with stakeholders on annual planning and management of expenditure
  • Partner with product, finance, integration, ops and other stakeholders to drive quarterly investment decisions into the value-based platform

Operations & Organizational Structure

  • Develop and execute process of ongoing resource management requests
  • Develop and maintain organizational model and structure for the VBP team

Other

  • Strategic projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with at least 7 years of healthcare operations leadership experience in a payer, provider, consulting, startup, or equivalent industry setting — or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Proven experience leading, developing, and mentoring small teams
  • Strong track record of managing complex projects in matrixed environments
  • Comfortable with financial planning, analysis, and qualitative problem-solving
  • Skilled in translating strategy into actionable plans, executing effectively, and measuring outcomes
  • Experienced in partnering with and influencing executive leadership

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's in Business Administration, Economics, or a related quantitative field required.
  • Master of Business Administration, Master of Health Administration or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration, Master of Health Administration, or equivalent highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with executive teams to drive organizational change.
  • Experience in adjusting strategies and processes to meet changing business needs while maintaining focus on operational excellence.
  • Familiarity with health plan or provider middle or back-office functions is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor performance metrics and develop actionable insights. Experience in creating and managing reports to track progress against strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working in a fast-paced startup, or similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.

Additional Information

This position has a preliminary projected target base salary of $176,667 - $233,200 which is subject to change as additional market data is acquired. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive wellness, time off, savings and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package for employees at Risant Health.
