Pay Range: $30.00 to $33.00 / Hour

Position Summary

Mater Dei Catholic School is seeking a Payroll Manager who ensures accurate and timely processing of all payroll functions. The role supports the school's mission by maintaining compliance with applicable laws and school policies, protecting employee confidentiality and delivering excellent internal service. 


 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  •  Process bi-weekly payroll for all faculty, staff and hourly employees through Paylocity.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and reconciliation of timecards, leave balances, deductions and adjustments.
  • Maintain employee payroll records including new hire entries, changes in pay rates, benefit deductions, terminations, and garnishments.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reports; coordinate with the Human Resources Director and Diocese for audits or reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with HR / Business Office to ensure benefit and tax withholdings are properly administered.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll laws and diocesan policies.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Generate and distribute W2s, 1095s and other required documents.
  • Serve as the school’s primary contact for Paylocity system support, updates and training.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience; prior experience with Paylocity strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll practices, tax regulations, and wage/hour laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; approachable demeanor.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic education.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in an office at a computer workstation and access information from a computer and use a telephone. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the office, as well as maneuver throughout the parish facility to attend meetings and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and conty-wide locations to attend meetings or events. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
