VP, Nashville - The Orchard

The Orchard, a global leader in music distribution, is seeking an experienced VP to lead its Nashville office. This role requires a strategic leader with deep industry knowledge and strong community ties to grow business and elevate the company’s presence locally.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with people management experience.
  • Proven experience managing corporate and project P&Ls within the music industry.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt in a dynamic, changing environment.
  • Experience with label or distribution company client relationship management.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital media, music retail, analytics, and social media landscapes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for multiple business levels.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Nashville office, working onsite four days a week.
  • Attract, sign, and retain labels, artists, and internal talent to the company.
  • Drive content acquisition and business development activities locally.
  • Manage local P&L with growth targets for revenue, market share, and profit.
  • Embed global company values and culture within the Nashville team.
  • Manage relationships with diverse music clients across genres and catalog types.
  • Cultivate relationships with DSPs, management companies, industry bodies, and Sony Music Nashville.
  • Oversee all local office operations including staffing and infrastructure.
  • Build and execute business plans with KPIs focused on client revenue growth and retention.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Management and Service teams to identify service gaps and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain open communication with executive leadership and client teams for feedback and optimization.
  • Troubleshoot account issues and coordinate internally to resolve them.
  • Promote adoption of The Orchard’s digital tools and services among clients.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to meet client and retail partner needs.
  • Hire, train, and retain a high-performing team.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
