Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Business Planning & Innovation Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated R&D Internal Communications Specialist.
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and manage internal communications and systems related to R&D and Michigan site announcements and events, R&D presentation content, and internal marketing.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the person in this role will support the Business Planning & Innovation department's objective to enable R&D to achieve our strategic vision and goals, fostering and engaging Team Members in a culture that embodies the Toyota Way.
What you’ll be doing
Develop and implement the Annual R&D Communications Plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Create and deploy "All Team" communications and weekly newsletters, including content creation, editing, and publishing.
Consult on and develop promotional materials, such as R&D one sheets, recruiting brochures, and informational pieces related to R&D activities.
Design presentation materials, including graphics and speech writing for R&D overviews.
Manage communication tools, including digital monitors, newsletter platforms, and the corporate calendar.
Serve as the central contact for R&D SharePoint, overseeing management and continuous improvement of the R&D Hub.
Maintain relationships with Corporate Communications and other divisions to support ongoing improvement initiatives.
Track and manage events and communication KPIs, contributing to cultural initiatives and kaizen activities.
Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with parties across the company.
Strong verbal, written, visual communication skills.
What you bring
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, or a related discipline; AND/OR commensurate experience.
Hands-on related marketing & communications experience.
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining communication and branding materials.
Demonstrated experience in newsletter development and content creation.
Advanced SharePoint, PowerPoint, Team, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other creative and collaborative tools.
Demonstrated ability to self-manage communications and coordination across divisions.
Added bonus if you have
Knowledge of Toyota operations & processes.
Speech writing, podcast/video production, and social media outreach experience a plus.
Project management experience with TBP.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Previous data management and analysis skills.
Survey writing and analysis.
