Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services (LAITS) is seeking highly skilled and motivated professionals to assist with the operations of a unique service department dedicated to creating, maintaining, and promoting technology within the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
The earliest start date for this position will be September 1st, 2025.
This position is fixed term and has an expected end date of August 31st, 2028.

As part of the Remote Studios team in the LAITS Studio, this position will provide high-quality production work for events, commencements, and hybrid conferences for the College of Liberal Arts and other university clients. This position will be expected to work autonomously and efficiently for multiple ongoing projects.
Assist on productions as needed including working as a camera operator, audio engineer, technical director, gaffer, and other roles as needed.
Serve as lead field producer for LAITS produced, university events. Coordinate production work for large-scale, and complicated events such as university commencements and hybrid conferences.
Assist with the creation of new processes, refinement of existing processes, maintenance of gear, and evaluation of technologies to increase the capacity and capabilities of the Remote Studio group.
Work with other studio FTEs to help with skill development of Remote Studio Student Technology Assistants.
Coordinate directly with clients related to field productions and streaming, including any post-production needs related to events.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Radio/Television/Film, Communication, Speech, English, Drama, or a related field
At least three years of experience in Audio/Video field productions.
High level of proficiency with Blackmagic URSA G2 and Canon XF605 cameras.
Working knowledge of Workday, Slack, and Harvest.
At least two years of experience in setting up, crewing, and overseeing field productions.
Experience creating and managing Virtual Meeting livestream webpages, including basic HTML and CSS coding.
Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder.
Professional experience working with and mentoring student employees.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
At least three years of experience with DMX lighting boards in auditorium and event venue settings.
Experience managing equipment databases in AirTable with hundreds of dynamic data entries.
Operational experience using ATEM broadcast switchers for up to four discrete outputs.
Experience running teleprompters both in venue downstage monitor applications for onstage talent, as well as for scripted direct camera address recordings.
Experience with OBS for dynamic motion graphic overlays, live-streaming, and video switching.
Several years of experience streaming to YouTube, Facebook, Zoom, Teams, and UStream/IBM Watson Media Video platforms.
Familiarity with Aputure stage lights and peripherals for diffusion, barn doors, and spotlights.
Ability to run productions independently as solo videographer using video camera, stage lights, lavalier, graphic overlays, slideshow intake, and live-streaming.
High level of experience live-streaming over the UT network.
Experience working with UT Austin event teams.
Knowledge of fiber AV setup and routing.
Experience as a photographer.
Experience mixing audio for amplification and for video post-production.
Professional customer service and support skills in media creation.
Proven track record of working well with dynamic crew.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience creating and maintaining file structures on shared server space.
Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a team or crew.
Very strong communication skills.
$50,000 - $53,000
Environmental Demands:
Work location is on the UT Main Campus.
Off-campus studio shoots may be required.
Personally owned electronic devices will be required in order to communicate effectively with team members.
