Chief Operating Officer

WellPower is a nationally recognized leader in mental health and well-being, seeking a strategic and mission-driven Chief Operating Officer to lead internal operations and enhance the organization’s capacity to deliver accessible, person-centered care in Denver. The COO will collaborate with executive leadership to implement strategic initiatives, foster team collaboration, and promote trauma-informed services.

Skills

  • Expertise in trauma-informed principles and practices.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • High business acumen including quality improvement and operational processes.
  • Knowledge of federal and state mental health laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Financial acumen and familiarity with complex financial models.
  • Proficiency with health records, learning and communication technologies.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Implement best practices in customer satisfaction, operational alignment, and provider engagement.
  • Ensure patient safety and positive clinical outcomes in collaboration with clinical leadership.
  • Evaluate and monitor operational systems and infrastructure aligned with strategic goals.
  • Supervise Vice Presidents for clinical services and advance clinical quality and operational excellence.
  • Champion continual process improvement and operational compliance with regulations.
  • Support leadership development and succession planning in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Lead budgeting and resource stewardship to achieve organizational goals.
  • Participate in external committees to influence and stay updated on regulatory and clinical standards.
  • Foster a culture of well-being, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Guide a trauma-informed environment supporting resilience and recovery.

Education

  • Master’s degree related to mental health services, business operations, healthcare administration, or quality systems.
