I started the company in 2007, and we have since grown to be the largest residential garage door service company in North America, operating in 40 markets across 20 states.
We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Scheduling & Capacity Planning Manager to oversee daily technician schedule assignments, monitor short-term capacity, and ensure optimal field resource utilization across a 600+ person field team of garage door technicians and installers in 30+ markets. This role will act as a critical liaison between Operations, Dispatch, Marketing, Finance, Fleet, and Training to align capacity with business needs and drive operational efficiency.
Education & Experience
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
You bring 3+ years of experience in workforce planning, dispatch management, field operations, or related roles — ideally in home services, HVAC, plumbing, or field service industries.
You’re proficient in Excel with 3+ years of hands-on experience analyzing data, creating reports, and managing scheduling.
You’ve collaborated cross-functionally with teams like Marketing, Finance, Fleet, Training, and HR to achieve business goals.
You’re familiar with real-time scheduling, dispatch software, and capacity tracking systems.

The Job:
Technician Scheduling & Oversight:
Develop and manage daily technician schedules, ensuring balanced assignments by geography and workload.
Make strategic recommendations for rotating or staggered schedules to maximize availability during peak demand windows and ensure adequate weekend and evening coverage.
Monitor technician schedule adherence and track performance metrics (e.g., jobs completed, arrival punctuality, rework rates) to evaluate effectiveness of scheduling models.
Short-Term Capacity Planning:
Monitor real-time capacity utilization and forecast daily/weekly technician availability.
Respond quickly to technician callouts or emergencies, when approved by their local manager, communicating changes effectively to Dispatch and Marketing.
Identify upcoming capacity constraints and capacity availability and communicate proactively with key stakeholders.
Analyze customer demand trends and recommend resource adjustments.
Serve as the central hub for Area Managers to report upcoming voluntary or involuntary attrition, technician promotions, and internal transfers.
Track and communicate field team role changes that result in backfill needs or impact regional capacity.
Workforce Planning and Cross-Functional Communication & Coordination:
Collaborate with Marketing to notify of low or high-capacity periods to adjust campaign pacing accordingly.
Partner with Finance to ensure labor availability supports revenue targets and marketing ROI.
Work closely with Fleet to ensure vehicle availability for technicians.
Partner with Training to align onboarding schedules with capacity needs and field readiness.
Help ensure technician job titles, market assignments, and status updates are entered and maintained accurately and on time in HR systems and that all changes adhere to internal workflows and approval protocols.
Reporting & Process Improvement:
Generate daily and weekly reports on capacity utilization, job completion rates, and scheduling efficiency/adherence.
Recommend process improvements or automation opportunities within scheduling and dispatching.
Support cross-functional meetings and contribute to strategic planning on workforce utilization.
