Director, Financial Institutions, Atlas

At Anchorage Digital, we are building the world’s most advanced digital asset platform for institutions to participate in crypto.

Anchorage Digital is a crypto platform that enables institutions to participate in digital assets through custody, staking, trading, governance, settlement, and the industry's leading security infrastructure. Home to Anchorage Digital Bank N.A., the only federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S., Anchorage Digital also serves institutions through Anchorage Digital Singapore, Porto by Anchorage Digital, and other offerings.

The company is funded by leading institutions including Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa, with its Series D valuation over $3 billion. Founded in 2017 in San Francisco, California, Anchorage Digital has offices in New York, New York; Porto, Portugal; Singapore; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Learn more at anchorage.com, on X @Anchorage, and on LinkedIn.

This is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth business within a crypto-native company, serving some of the largest, most complex traditional financial institutions as they enter the digital asset space and develop products for themselves and their customers.  You will be a critical team member, supporting the department and business line leads as they engage with clients, refine the strategic direction of the business, and collaborate with partners across Anchorage. If you are motivated, hungry to learn, and thrive in a fast and sometimes ambiguous environment - this is the role for you.

This senior role on the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) team focuses on strategy, go-to-market execution, product development, and deal-making. You will be instrumental in expanding the adoption of the Atlas Settlement Network and its constituent products (Off-Exchange Settlement, Collateral Management, Spot Settlement, Triparty Services) for institutional clients.

The work is broad-ranging, encompassing transaction structuring, in-depth market research, writing product specifications, cultivating relationships with influential figures in the crypto space, building working prototypes, liaising with the legal team for contract negotiation and drafting, and creating robust operational processes. In essence, this role is about synergizing the efforts of various Anchorage teams—including Product, Engineering, Legal, Trading, and Risk—to drive new business and generate revenue directly.

We have created the Factors of Growth & Impact to help Villagers better measure impact and articulate coaching, feedback, and the rich and rewarding learning that happens while exploring, developing, and mastering the capabilities and contributions within and outside of the role:

Technical Skills:
  • Direct work experience (5+ years) in traditional financial services businesses, including proprietary trading firms, investment banks, asset managers, exchanges, or lenders, with a preference for at least two years of experience in a digital asset-related role.
  • Working knowledge of the risk, compliance, legal, and regulatory considerations related to the FIG business and target client base.
  • Entry-level coding proficiency (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL).
  • Strong research, analytical, writing, presentation, and public communication skills.

Complexity and Impact of Work:
  • Supports strategy execution and internal FIG operations, with direct revenue responsibilities.
  • Collaborate across teams, such as Sales, Marketing, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Product to solve problems and define strategy, prioritization, and roadmap execution.
  • Conduct primary research to support strategic initiatives across FIG and within specific business lines or client segments.
  • Participate in existing and potential client conversations to develop relationships, promote business growth, and progress client deals.
  • Ability to manage multiple disparate responsibilities and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Organizational Knowledge:
  • Contributes to the prioritization and development of key business initiatives, associated product feature needs, and automation and scalability.
  • Develop technical understanding of Anchorage’s Proprietary custody technology and use that knowledge to build products that take advantage of our strengths.
  • Comfortable in a highly dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Ensures knowledge sharing across FIG.

Communication and Influence:
  • Contribute to strategic proposals, client-facing presentations, business plans, and execution roadmaps.
  • Work within and across FIG and cross-functional boundaries to gain consensus, identify and solution issues, and present to the FIG business leads, Department Head, and stakeholders across Anchorage.
  • Client-facing role requiring clear and consistent communication.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:
  • 5+ years of experience across traditional financial services (proprietary trading firms, investment banks, asset managers, exchanges, or lenders).
  • At least 2 years of experience in an institutional-focused crypto business, with direct exposure to trading, lending, settlements, and/or custody infrastructure.
  • A track record of managing cross-functional initiatives tied to institutional product and service delivery.
  • A demonstrable track record of delivering revenue growth.
  • Proficiency in at least one coding language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL).
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage disparate responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and client visits.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
  • Professional or personal trading experience.
  • Professional experience working on secured transactions (e.g., loans, derivatives, structured products).
  • Experience building collateral management systems.
  • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
