As a Structural Designer specializing in corrugated displays and packaging, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and prototyping innovative and effective display / packaging solutions that meet clients' marketing and merchandising objectives. Your role will involve transforming creative concepts into practical and manufacturable designs while ensuring cost-efficiency and structural integrity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and Development:      Create detailed corrugated / folding carton structural designs, including point-of-purchase (POP) displays, primary packaging solutions, and other merchandising displays.
• Prototyping:      Develop and construct prototypes using ArtiosCAD software / Kongsberg Cutting Tables and physical materials to test and refine designs.
• Collaboration:      Work closely with the graphic designers, marketing teams, and clients to understand requirements, incorporate feedback, and ensure the final product aligns with branding and marketing goals.
• Material Selection:      Choose appropriate materials and construction techniques to ensure the durability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness of the displays.
• Technical Documentation:      Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and instructions for manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Quality Assurance:      Conduct tests and evaluations to ensure displays meet performance standards and safety regulations.
• Innovation:      Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies to introduce innovative design solutions.
• Project Management:      Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets are adhered to.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABIILITIES:

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret client provided specifications, retailer guidelines, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. or governmental regulations.
•  Ability to design samples using CAD (Esko ArtiosCAD) software.
• Strong creative and critical thinking skills to develop innovative solutions to design challenges.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Structural Engineering, Packaging Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural design, preferably within the packaging or display industry.

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

• Knowledge of Artios,CAD, Kongsberg or Zund tables, Adobe Creative Suite, TOPS or CAPE, or similar tools.
• Prior experience with graphic design, technical drawing, or color management.
• Experience using Windows and Microsoft Office products.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Regularly required to sit in an office environment and operate a computer. Regularly required to sit, bend, walk, reach. At times, may be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
