Staff Software Engineer – Backend (Consumer, Wallet & Commerce)
Skills
- Proficient in backend languages such as Go, Java, Kotlin, or Rust
- Strong knowledge of payments and wallet infrastructure including card networks and PCI compliance
- Experience designing ledger systems with consistency and reliability
- Familiarity with crypto stablecoin rails and blockchain integration
- Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and microservices
- Experience creating APIs for personalized and assisted shopping workflows
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services for universal wallet infrastructure including multi-currency wallets, KYC/AML compliance, and stablecoin management
- Develop crypto on-ramps/off-ramps, P2P transfers, and blockchain-routed settlements
- Build payment acquisition, routing, reconciliation, and settlement systems
- Ensure distributed systems have 99.999% uptime and low latency
- Collaborate with banks, payment service providers, stablecoin issuers, and blockchain providers
- Lead architectural decisions across wallet, commerce, crypto, and agentic shopping services
- Integrate fraud detection, compliance, and risk scoring for fiat and crypto transactions
- Partner with frontend, infrastructure, and data teams to enhance intelligent shopping experiences
- Mentor backend engineers and establish best practices for wallet and crypto services
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
