Summary of Position
As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the company during periods of change, transition, and growth through hands-on accounting tasks. Working closely with Canby Builders Supply staff, you will work in a variety of areas as dictated by situation and need. Areas of focus include:
• Transaction processing to maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Prepare and balance store tills daily
• Three-way matching of purchase orders, packing slips/receivers, and invoices
• Ensuring transactions and entries have proper support and approvals
• Coding expenses for proper categorization
• File and track Right to Liens
• Maintain fleet licensing and tax reporting
• Other office duties including maintaining office supplies, backing up multiline phone, assisting employees with purchase of business apparel, names, and business cards

Knowledge, Experience and Education
• 1-3 years of experience obtained through positions within the accounting and finance function
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel, automated financial and reporting systems, other Microsoft Office products, and other tools commonly used by accounting and finance teams
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience in Bistrack and/or Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus
