Responsibilities
- Evaluate, curate, price, promote, and grow brands/products in assigned category.
- Cultivate strong vendor partnerships and negotiate contracts for large volume accounts.
- Manage brand/product assortment aligned with category trends and team objectives.
- Collaborate on business strategies and category KPIs with Category Manager and team.
- Lead onboarding and maintenance of new products and brands.
- Analyze cost, pricing, margins, and promotional activities to drive category growth.
- Partner with Inventory and Planning teams to manage inventory turns and vendor forecasts.
- Develop profitable promotional co-op activities with Marketing.
- Create and utilize reports for in-depth category analysis.
- Mentor and support Assistant Buyers to foster team growth.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Merchandising or related field preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
