Senior Manager, Retention Marketing Ops

As Senior Manager, Retention Marketing Ops, you will lead the technical engine behind high-performing lifecycle marketing initiatives. You’ll design and scale impactful retention workflows, govern email infrastructure, and ensure strong deliverability using advanced tools and automation. In this role, you’ll collaborate across marketing, data, and product teams to improve inbox placement, boost engagement, and personalize customer experiences at scale. Your expertise will directly influence customer loyalty, revenue growth, and operational excellence within a fast-paced and mission-driven environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, build, and continuously optimize lifecycle workflows and marketing automations for customer engagement and retention.
  • Create modular, responsive, and brand-aligned email templates with dynamic content for targeted personalization.
  • Own email deliverability strategy by managing list hygiene, bounce handling, segmentation, and sender reputation.
  • Administer and scale the Klaviyo ESP environment, managing user roles, APIs, event schemas, and integrations.
  • Lead A/B and multivariate testing efforts and analyze results using tools like Tableau to inform strategy.
  • Implement governance across naming conventions, documentation, QA, and operational standards.
  • Serve as the internal expert on deliverability, interfacing with Klaviyo and external ISPs as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Leverage AI and emerging tech to automate processes, increase efficiency, and drive performance.
  • 6+ years in email or retention marketing operations, with proven experience in Klaviyo and/or Braze.
  • Expertise in email deliverability, lifecycle design, and technical ESP configurations including APIs and dynamic content.
  • Strong background in data personalization, campaign governance, testing frameworks, and performance optimization.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, creative, and data teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Strategic mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for building efficient, scalable systems.
  • Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Adaptability and resilience in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

  • Competitive salary between $105,000 and $130,000, plus performance incentives and stock options.
