Responsibilities: Define AI adoption roadmap, manage operational budgets, support team development, and ensure governance of AI initiatives.
Skills: Strong leadership in AI strategy, knowledge of LLMs and agentic AI, excellent communication skills, and experience in change management.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (MBA preferred) with 10+ years IT experience, including 5-10 years in management.

Compensation: $150000 - $200000 / Annually

The Director of Agentic AI will lead the strategic vision, integration, and enablement of agentic AI across the organization. This role is responsible for aligning AI initiatives with business priorities, fostering a culture of responsible innovation, and ensuring that agentic AI capabilities are scalable, auditable, and impactful. As a key bridge between technical teams and business leaders, this role will champion the agentic AI vision and help Nelnet stay in line with the AI transformation curve.
Salary range for this role: $150,000-$200,000
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (MBA preferred) and/or commensurate experience.
EXPERIENCE:
10+ years IT experience with 5 - 10 years in a management position. Experience should include IT planning, governance and system development.
