About the Job:
The Airport Design & Construction department is seeking a Technical Coordinator, Civil Projects with a strong foundation in civil infrastructure to support the successful delivery of capital improvement projects at San Diego International Airport, including contributions to the New T1 program, the largest civil engineering project currently underway at a U.S. airport.
This position provides technical support to project managers throughout the full project lifecycle—from early design development through construction and closeout. The Technical Coordinator will collaborate with design consultants to review plans and specifications, help track project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure alignment with airport and regulatory standards. Proficiency in CAD and a strong understanding of civil plans and specifications are essential.
The role also involves coordinating with contractors, assisting with documentation and permitting, and supporting internal stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate brings a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work seamlessly across technical disciplines and construction environments.
