We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated student to join the Precision Neurology and Neuroinflammation Cluster at Sanofi for a 6-month co-op, focused on discovering neuroinflammatory pathway biology for neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease.
This position is laboratory-based and will involve executing experiments to explore novel biology around neuroinflammatory signaling pathways that relate to neurodegeneration. The successful candidate will have experience working in neuroscience or similar field in an academic or industry setting, demonstrating the ability to perform cell culture-based experiments using primary brain cells and/or cell lines. The ideal candidate will also have experience running different bioanalytical and biochemical assays including Western blots and ELISA-based systems.

Main Responsibilities:
Establish primary, immortalized, and/or iPSC-based cell cultures to test compounds or model neuroinflammatory mechanisms.
Measure changes in neuroinflammatory pathways by utilizing ELISA or similar approaches.
Assess changes in post-translational protein modifications and expression by employing Western blot, qRT-PCR, or similar approaches.
Help design and execute experiments, analyze data, and clearly communicate results at internal meetings.
Interact in a matrixed, dynamic and cross-functional manner across the Rare and Neuroscience Therapeutic Area and research platforms
About You
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled and pursuing bachelor’s (3rd or 4th year) or master’s degree in neuroscience, neurodegeneration, neuroimmunology, or related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2027.
Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship.
Experience with in vitro models and tools including cell-based disease models for neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disease.
Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with in vivo disease models and tools is a plus.
Organized, collaborative, and effective working on teams.
Established analytical and communication skills.
Ability to effectively develop and discuss experimental goals and research progress with scientists of varied backgrounds.
