Sr. Engineer, Airframe and Structures Design
Skills
- Experience in airframe design and development for eVTOL or rotorcraft.
- Advanced CAD proficiency (Catia, UG, Pro-E, Solidworks).
- Knowledge of composite structures design and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing and advanced fabrication technologies.
- Strong project management and Earned Value Management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize independently and manage time effectively.
Responsibilities
- Translate preliminary and detailed requirements into comprehensive airframe design solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for the airframe design engineering team.
- Conduct airframe design studies and create detailed layouts and assemblies.
- Oversee design progression from concept through engineering release.
- Ensure designs meet production rate, weight, and certification targets.
- Coordinate with systems, interiors, flight technology, and manufacturing teams.
- Research and apply new materials and design concepts.
- Support manufacturing in production technology development.
- Create 3D part and assembly models for prototypes and production aircraft.
- Establish standard methodologies for airframe design.
- Represent the team during supplier interactions.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or relevant engineering field required.
- Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
